Air Conditioner Upgrade

We have now got all the information in relation to inverter systems we require to make an informed decision:

Pricing:

air con

Build info:

The building height is 8.353m and the standard inverter maximum pipe length is 50m. M confirmed that there is enough piping for us approx 20-30m required.

 Zone layout as follows:

1)      Upstairs – 12.8kw

2)      Great Room, Kitchen – 7.5kw

3)      Study, Dining, Living – 6.0kw

In that configuration, the minimum system capacity needed to run 2 out of 3 zones is 20.3kw

Running Cost:

From this link the running cost is a little cheaper if we ran the premium inverter all the time however we only use air con when its very hot or very cold.

So we decided that we would go with the Daikin Standard 20kw Inverter with 3 zones. As its likely that we won’t need all 3 zones on at the same time anyway.

Colours paper work should be finalised soon too and we can get an electrical appointment date!

I was interested in your A/C units selection, what was the heat load allowance per m2? Also what was the insulation specification (Walls R1.5 and Ceilings R3.5, sarking to walls/roof), as this will impact on your heat load.

Not sure, the consultant calculated the requirements for us given we have the Masterton included insulation in walls and roof, except for the rooms where there is the upgraded soundproofing type insulation and we have sarking and a colourbond roof. He recommended at least an 18kw inverter system for us so he told us that the 20kw would be good, however I note this only allows us to run 2/3 zones at one time though
