12 Months Since Construction Began

Today marks 12 months since they began construction. This time last year we were so excited to see movement on our block with he excavation commencing. That excitement and joy was short lived thanks to Masterton’s disappointing management of our build. Furthermore, NOT ONE trade can come to our house and do the job right the first time.

We thought we’d be in by now but unfortunately that’s not the case. PCI got moved again for the third time and this time Mr Masterton can’t attend with us as he is going on leave. The reason for the delay is mainly the big ticket items that they agreed were too big for us to meet the definition of PCI. That’s the leaky roof, no second garage door, and no shower screens.

Whilst we are getting a flurry of trades, it looks like there’s still a lot outstanding:

– fix dents on the roof

– Finish paint – manhole and kitchen bulk head and touch ups

– remove paint runs on bathroom, ensuite and powder room tiles/grout

– Kitchen – replacement of the scratched panel and cracked piece in MW space

– replace Scratched Frosted Glass in the stairwell

– bathroom vanity cupboards straightened and scratched panel in main bathroom replaced

– Bowed door under the stairwell

– missing door handle on pantry

– leaking side garden tap

– silicone bathroom corners

– install door stops

– bathroom mirror fix in main bathroom. The mirrors were installed and there’s a 5mm difference in height between the two panels so they don’t look right

– fly screens

– Carpet

– waterproofing on internal and external doors and ensuring they are sealed top and bottom

– fix defective storm moulds

– fix defective weep holes

– fix defective and scratched stacker door

Lots can be done once we move in so PCI will be interesting as I do want to make sure the roof, weep holes and stacker door are fixed and we get the missing handle and replacement kitchen panels before we proceed…12 months and no keys is a joke really…
